Chris (he/him) is a senior counselling psychotherapist and coach.
He is an experienced (jargon alert!) Integrative Counselling Psychotherapist working relationally. He is accredited by and registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and follows a strict code of conduct and ethics. He is a trauma informed therapist with extensive experience of working therapeutically across a broad range of issues including relationship problems/difficulties, anxiety, trauma, depression, men’s problems, and problematic behaviours which include anger issues or addiction.
He works with adults (18+) and couples (partners/spouses, business partners, bands). He has significant experience of working therapeutically with clients from the music, live events and other creative industries, and is highly experienced working with clients who have a lived experience of ADHD and Autistic Spectrum, and not necessarily with a diagnosis. He also works with people from all walks of life.
He believes an important aspect of therapy is the relationship that develops between the client and therapist so it really doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, where you come from, what industry you work in; he is on your side, and will ‘have your back’ as you work towards whatever you need from therapy.
Prior to retraining as a therapist, he spent 20 years in the music industry and since then has worked therapeutically with Oscar and Grammy nominees, Mercury Music Prize nominees and winners, and Sundance Film Festival winning artists and production crew members. He advises on wellbeing approaches across the music industry and regularly advocates on conference panels for neurodiversity across the sector.
He also has considerable experience of working with students in higher education/university settings, including several years as counselling /wellbeing head of service at a university.
He is an active member of MITC (Music Industry Therapist Collective), a global reach therapy organisation, a senior psychotherapist/service provider for UK charities including BAPAM (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine), Help Musicians, Music Support, Universal Music Group and Royal Society for Musicians. He is a trustee of Music:Leeds/Launchpad, lectures in counselling and psychotherapy at Leeds Beckett University, and is an accredited Mental Health First Aid (England) Instructor.

Janine (she/they) is a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, providing therapy face-to-face, online and via telephone to adults and young people over 18 years old. She is a registered practitioner for BAPAM (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine) and on the board of advisors for Launchpad Music who support the music sector across Yorkshire with signposting to advice, funding and opportunities.

Hi, I’m Jon,
I am passionate about helping people and I adopt a relational approach with my clients. I believe that the working relationship between therapist and the client is of great importance in order to for therapy to be

As a psychotherapist my approach is integrative, drawing on different theoretical orientations in order to
tailor my approach to an individual’s specific needs.
I provide a warm, friendly environment where I will listen with sensitivity and empathy. Working collaboratively we will help you explore and understand your concerns to in order for you to reach your

I understand that thinking about taking the first step into therapy can be daunting and may raise many
questions, so I offer a free initial consultation, either in person or by telephone in order to learn more about how I may support you and answer any questions you may have.
I work with individuals (16+) and can help with issues such as: Depression and low mood, anxiety, self esteem and self worth, managing emotions, relationship issues, work related difficulties, addiction, trauma, sexual issues.

therapeutic space for you to explore and make sense of whatever you are struggling with. I value the uniqueness of each person and your individual rhythm and pace of exploration are central to my work. I am committed to creating a trauma informed, anti-oppressive, and inclusive therapy space.
Maybe you know exactly what has led you to reach out for therapeutic support. Maybe you cannot exactly put your experience into words. Whatever brought you to therapy will be our starting point for working together.
I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I am an active participant in creating a space where you can explore your concerns. Therapy can include talking, wondering, sensing and moving, and I enjoy including in therapy all the ways we can come to know about who we are.
My foundation is relational and integrative. I see the relationships we form with ourselves, other people and the wider world as foundational for who we are and how we are. The therapeutic relationship can offer you a place to become aware how your relational
patterns may form part of the challenges you face. As an integrative psychotherapist, I am informed by a range of approaches to help me understand and step into the uniqueness of your experience.
I work with adult clients (18+), and I have experience of working with childhood trauma, sexual violence & trauma, relationship challenges, women’s issues, non-normative relationship styles.

Hello, I’m Frances.
Does life feel heavy or out of reach? You might feel numb, on edge, or caught in patterns that once protected you but now leave you feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or exhausted. I offer a safe, empathetic space where you can gently explore your experiences and begin to reconnect with what matters to you. My approach is integrative and rooted in humanistic,
person-centred therapy, meaning our work is shaped around your unique experiences, feelings, and aims.
I work with adults experiencing a deep sense of disconnection. This may look like emotional depletion, self-doubt, burnout, living in cycles of fear, a loss of meaning or as trauma responses. Whatever brings you to my practice, I’ll walk alongside you with empathy and care, supporting your journey towards gaining greater clarity, connection, and self-trust.
I offer in-person sessions in Leeds and online therapy across the UK and internationally.

Liz (she/her) is an integrative, relational therapist who works from a foundation of compassion and care. The individuals she works with are at the heart of the therapeutic process, and she is
committed to supporting them in making sense of their reality and moving towards greater wellbeing.
“I believe that healing begins in relationship — being truly heard and seen, without judgment.”
Liz was drawn to train as a psychotherapeutic counsellor through noticing the impact life complexities such as life transitions, self-identity, work pressures, family difficulties, parental responsibilities, managing work life balance and past trauma was having on the psychological wellbeing of many she worked alongside. Her passion for helping people and supporting them to maximise their potential and move forward with confidence and clarity
was the catalyst for her career change.
Her background spans corporate (blue-chip and SME) and public sector settings, including education, local authority, and the NHS. She’s also been a stay-at-home mum, which has deepened her empathy and understanding of the challenges many families face. Much of her work has focused on children and families, giving her valuable insight into parenting,
special educational needs, and navigating complex support systems.
She brings nearly eight years of experience in therapeutic roles, including speech and language before psychotherapy and offers a well-rounded, grounded perspective to her work. Her experience includes working with people affected by domestic abuse, anxiety,
complex trauma, loss, and grief—though her work is not limited to these areas. She has supported individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, always prioritizing their unique lived experiences.
“Therapy is a collaborative journey. My goal is to support you in discovering your voice, building strength from within, and finding a way forward that makes sense for you.”
Qualifications & Ethics
“You can be confident that I practice ethically, safely, and with your wellbeing as the priority.”

I can appreciate how difficult it can be to engage in counselling for the first time or with a new counsellor. I recommend that we arrange an initial session to identify and explore the issues and concerns you may be experiencing, and your hopes for how counselling may help you. The initial
meeting is very relaxed and just for you to have space to explore your thoughts. There is no obligation to continue further sessions at that point. You may decide you feel comfortable and would like to return at another time in the future or it may be a one off session, your choice. I
know from experience that when you reach out for help, it is a strength, not a weakness. I am here to help you work through any challenges you may be facing.
It would be good to meet you and discuss how your problems are affecting you and how I can help. Most of my clients say they start to feel better after just a single session and around 95% feel they have made significant progress after six.
NHS waiting lists are 12 months. I have sessions available for you now with Footsteps Counselling via Face to Face, Teams or WhatsApp video call. To book a session call 07769156076
or e-mail Footsteps123@hotmail.co.uk or book through Park Place Practice website.
Reflect - In the first session I would like to get to know you and identify the symptoms you are experiencing, the emotions and the events that trigger them and the root cause by exploring
your core beliefs.
Recover - This is not a quick fix approach. To achieve personal change requires lifestyle changes and sustained effort and commitment from you. We will work together to meet your goals of
therapy and an action plan for maintenance of your improved mood.
Refocus - One of the biggest benefits of CBT is that after your course has finished, you can continue to apply the ‘tools for life’ you have learned. This should make it less likely that your symptoms will return.
How counselling has helped my clients -

I have unpacked it all now & feel amazing! Thank you for all your help this year. I couldn’t navigate life without you!”
"Thank you so much for everything. From being so low, you've made me happier than I've ever been about myself and more optimistic about the future."
